Burnout is NOT a Vibe

Burnout is NOT a vibe.

Yoga teaches us about awareness + connection with our mind + body. And with this awareness, I've recognised this Yang energy has been leading me toward burnout - not a vibe.

Sometimes we think burnout can come from doing things we don't like, but actually burnout can also come from overdoing things we love.

I love what I do, so it's easy to flow down this path, but as you know, I'm all about balance.

One of my daily mantras is inspired by Maya Angelou's wisdom: "When you know better, you do better."

With grace, I decided to reset + realign.

I'm entering tomorrow with a week off, so naturally, that is a great way to recharge my energy. BUT we can't always take a holiday when experiencing burnout. We need to find a way to manage this energy flow in our daily lives.

So this time last week, I knew that I was entering into another very heavy yang week, but I reflected on where I could slow down + ground myself. I knew I needed to make space for yin energy in the midst of busyness. No one will do this for you! And so, taking action, I tried to have a reset week - incorporating calmness + slowness to feel more grounded + balanced.

I love the clarity, vibrancy, + freshness that slowing down brings. There's no substitute.

I know + trust that having a week off of blissful being energy, I'll feel balanced again. And when I return to daily life, I'll let this vibration flow in - implementing the lessons I've learnt from my current burnout vibe.

Before yoga, I used to live in a constant state of burnout without even realising it. That used to be my daily vibration for YEARS. Now, I'm no longer available for that kind of energy. When I feel it creeping in, I take action.

I've been practicing yoga for seven years, + I apply its teachings daily. We don't practice them just once, just like you wouldn't work out only once in your life. It's an ongoing journey.

While I practice living a yoga-inspired life daily, I also inspire and encourage others through my teachings. And so I hope the words in this email inspire you too.

Take a moment today (or schedule some time) to reflect on the lessons of the year so far - what's flowing + what isn't.

Get clear on the vibration you want to invite in.

Then take action.

You have the power to do this. You really do.

If you need help with this, I delve into greater depth with a supporting philosophy, asana + meditation in the  Inspired Club. They will guide you with support, inspiration, + ease, helping you find balance + vibrancy, whilst nurturing your well-being.
